Salah and dream 2011. "Old permit" may come true soon
More than 10 years ago, Mohamed Salah was playing for Arab Contractors, looking for a door out of the Egyptian league to "realize his dream".
The first to open the door was the English club Newcastle United, which was preparing an offer to join Salah in 2011, according to the player at the time to the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram.
The "emerging player" said at the time: "Newcastle will soon make an official offer to sign me for one season. "I don't think the contractors will refuse to let me play in the Premier League.
"It's a dream for any player to play in one of the strongest league competitions in the world. I want to play outside. "I think this will be my next step.
Although Newcastle's plan was not complete at the time, with Salah heading to Basel in 2012 and then starting the journey of brilliance to Liverpool in 2017, the player's accession to the "new Newcastle" is very likely in a matter of months.
So far, Liverpool and Salah have not reached an agreement on the renewal of the contract, which means that the Egyptian player may leave the"Reds" for free next summer.
Salah's contract with the Premier League runner-up runs until June 2023, but the two sides have failed to reach a deal despite negotiations on an extension starting months ago.
According to the website" The Athletic", Salah, who turns 30 after two weeks, is keen to stay in the Premier League, even if he does not renew his contract with Liverpool.
If Salah decides to disengage from Liverpool and stay in England, there will be several clubs willing to join him, one of which is Newcastle who will be able to negotiate with the player next January.
Newcastle is seeking investment from the new Saudi administration to support the team with new stars, to compete for the Premier League title in the coming seasons, and several reports have already linked him to Salah.
